2022

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Pedro Lorenzo Chinnery, a man whose strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the honor of knowing him.

One memory that will always stay with me is when my wife & I paid him a visit at his home at the remarkable age of 99. He wanted to show me something outside, and to my amazement, he walked straight to his beloved mango tree, climbed up a ladder with the agility of a man half his age, and picked a few mangoes to share. I stood there in awe—what a strong man, not just in body but in will and determination. That moment perfectly encapsulated who he was: a man who embraced life fully, who took pride in the simple joys, and who never allowed age to define him.

To his dear wife, Esther, his children, Paul & Portia, and all his loved ones, I offer my heartfelt condolences. May you find comfort in the incredible legacy he leaves behind and in the countless ways he touched our lives. Pedro was, and will always be, an inspiration. May he rest in eternal peace.

I am deeply sorry for your loss and the grief you are feeling today. I had the privilege of knowing Mr. Pedro, or as I affectionately called him, "Uncle Pete," for a brief time, but his impact on my life was profound. I will forever treasure the memories and personal stories he shared with me. My last memory of him is of the love and care he put into baking a special dessert just for me. He was a kind, beautiful, and generous soul, now walking with God for eternity. May God bless his family with strength during this difficult time.
