Due to her next of kin’s refusal of responsibility, her final arrangements are being handled by her found family: “daughter of the heart,” Danielle, and unofficial sister and roommate, Susi, without any access to her financials. To help offset the cost of her cremation and unexpected final expenses, we are fundraising for a momentary goal of $1,500 using GoFundMe.

We understand how awkward it is to be asking friends and family of Paula and ourselves for help in laying Paula to rest per her final wishes. Fundraising is not a decision we take lightly. Paula was a great friend to many. Her online community was vast and there is no shortage of lives she impacted. She was an avid reader, crafter, dog mom, author, and Pagan who took every opportunity she could to uplift and support others. To us, Paula was our found family. The mother I needed but never had in my own, and the big sister Susi never had. She is gone far, far too soon and will be terribly missed.
