My condolences to Paul's family. I first met Paul when we traveled together for a job in Japan in the early 90s. We worked for Lam Research at the time. We got to know each other and I discovered he's as twisted as me! He always made me laugh. We hadn't seen each other for years but connected on Facebook. I realized I hadn't seen him much online so I went to his page only to find out that he passed away. Very sad. RIP Paul.

Hey Pab -

We were up in Northern Georgia when I was informed of your passing.  Much sadness Little Brother.  Being down, I asked myself what would Paul want me to do?  The answer was very clear . . . GO FISHING!  So, we found a beautiful river and that's just what I did.  When I got down the bank I opened my tackle box and what did I see?  I saw a bunch of lures that we used to share 50+ years ago!  It reminded me of you and I fishing below the dam and on Clearwater Lake.  MAGICAL!  I hope that there's great fishing for you on the Other Side.  And, I bet that you get a complimentary license!

Pab, you always have been a man of many talents and many interests.  Some of those interests we shared together, such as flying and guitar playing.  I must admit that you smoked my butt on those.  I was always very proud of your accomplishments.  Always ready to brag to my friends about you.  Most of all, I was proud of your dedication to Will and the love you had for him and his family.  Just the best!

Maybe we will meet again on the Other Side.  I hope so.

Hasta entonces mi hermano.  Con Amor,

Andy

When I was very young and we were all living on the farm, Uncle Paul would take the time to learn the names of all my imaginary friends and participate in our adventures. When I was older we watched the likes of  Rickey Henderson, Dave Stewart, Mark McGuire, and Reggie Jackson together at the Coliseum. He was a great uncle. God Bless all of you.

Paul was a generous, talented and funny guy who will be sorely missed. He could be excellent (not just good or competent) at whatever he wanted...whether that was music, flying, gliding, Wing Chun, skydiving, bow hunting, target shooting or any of this other many pursuits. I can't think of a more capable person that I've met.

He was generous with his time and a great teacher. When I was just a beginner at the guitar for those first few years he gave me the tools to express myself freely, charging next to nothing for weekly lessons. That wound up taking me places I'd never have gone, bending my life in a much better/funkier direction. He also taught the best bassist I've played with. Ever supportive and wanting the best for his son, he was a fixture at our gigs. Over the next few decades, I jumped at every chance to resume learning from him when he had time. His deep understanding of music and skill is something I aspire to

He had a great sense of humor, I remember him sitting Will and I down to watch the Big Lebowski as teenagers. I think back to Sifu Vince Lacey showing up at the door in Fremont to take the guitar lesson after mine and the mysterious power of a certain large rodent that still guides us.

Paul had big footsteps to follow in his pursuits, wishing him all the powah to move through the  funkiverse in this next stage. While he will be missed greatly, I'm grateful at least that he will no longer be suffering.
