Was a ship mate of Nicks on the Polar Sea. Wanted to write him a letter. Looked him up on the net. saw the name Nick j. Plastino in the obits. Was completly devistated. Wanted to remind him of good times. Am still shaking as i write this. Am sorry for your loss. He was a great guy. I will surely miss him. Sincerely Brian Presnell USCGC WAGB 11

So much crying. I was so surprised, and he was so proud of me. I found three copies of the commencement program while going through his things after he passed.

Captured by Aunt Gayle (thank you!!!). Folks snuck my dad down from Alaska to watch me graduate from PLU. I didn't know he was in town until they surprised me after the commencement ceremony. This is the whole of my immediate family all stuck together in one picture. Not something I every imagined happening!

A few hours after my dad died, I got a call from SightLife, a non-profit global health organization focused on eliminating corneal blindness. He was eligible to be a donor. I got an email from them this evening. Two people somewhere in the world may have their vision restored with his gift. He would have thought this was "fuckin'-A bitchin".
