Nicholas's obituary
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Nicholas "Woody" LaRue, born July 3, 1987, who passed away on May 21, 2023. Although he was known to many as Woody. He is survived by his loving partner, Lisa Evans, and their cherished son, Landin LaRue.
Nicholas graduated from Laguna Hills High School in 2005, located on Paseo De Valencia, Laguna Hills, CA. He then went on to study HVAC at Orange Coast College on Fairview Road, Costa Mesa, CA, and was expected to graduate this year. His journey was marked by resilience and determination, as he turned his life around in 2018 for the sake of his son. That same year, he became a proud father. This commitment to change was one of his greatest achievements.
A true Californian at heart, Nicholas loved and supported local sports teams, including the Lakers, Goldenstate, Angels, with a particular fondness for Kobe Bryant. His favorite movies were Arthur and any Quentin Tarantino film. Nicholas enjoyed a variety of foods, such as Mos 2, lasagna, and juicy burgers, as well as drinks like Coca Cola, milkshakes, chocolate milk, and Grey Goose. His favorite book was The Real Anthony Fauci by Robert Kennedy, and he appreciated the music of Sublime, Bob Marley, Tech N9ne, RA the Rugged Man, Eminem, and Diabolic. Artwork by Banksy held a special place in his heart.
Nicholas found immense joy spending time with his son, visiting places like Disneyland, baseball games, and the beach. He cherished local spots like Treasure Island Laguna Beach, Newport Beach Pier, and Top of the World Laguna Beach. His favorite color was green because as he would say, its the color of money. Described as silly, caring, sometimes introverted, and occasionally Mr. Crabby Pants, as Lisa liked to call him sometimes, he was deeply concerned about the world his son would grow up in and dedicated himself to raising him well. A man of great empathy, Nicholas believed in helping those less fortunate and would give someone the shirt off his back if needed.
A viewing for Nicholas was held on May 30, 2023, at 1:30 PM at the Omega Society. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to help with his Celebration of Life Ceremony and to provide for his son, at https://everloved.com/life-of…">https://everloved.com/life-of….
Nicholas will always be missed, and his passing has left an empty void in the lives of those who cared about him. His legacy will live on through the lessons he shared, the love he gave, and the memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
