Thinking about the Kes family and sending all my love. Prayers for comfort during this most difficult time. Nancy was the mother of my childhood friend, Chrissy. The Hardison, Kes, and Munder military families were the best of friends during our time at RAF Lakenheath in England in the early 1980s. The adults would hang out and play canasta at one house and all the kids would be outside playing kick ball or next door at another house watching Xanadu or dancing to Abba. Nancy was so loving to all of us kids. She taught us calligraphy and organized our little group to make a children's choir at church. We played instruments like the bongo drums and the triangle and sang "Lord of the Dance" among other songs. I still have the songbooks we used. The Kes family had the coolest player piano that mesmerized me! Nancy gave me the sweetest handmade wood craft that says "Please be patient. God isn't finished with me yet." It is one of my treasures. Later in life she gave me a framed photograph she'd taken and I think of her when I see it every day hung on my wall. Due to the nature of military kid life, there were very few adults (aside from family) who made as big of an impact on my life as Nancy did with her kindness, patience, infectious laugh, creativity, and spirituality. I loved being in contact with her in more recent years; she was always so thoughtful and encouraging. She was the most beautiful soul. I'll always have a very special space in my heart for her and my heart is broken to learn of her passing.

What a beautiful woman! Nancy shared her life with our family for many years. She lived on a small farm in Mansfield, Ga and we lived a mile away, as the crow flies.  We shared a love for animals and had so many laughs at the antics of her piglet, the lambs and our delightful horse rides w all our children in tow.  Many races across meadows, swimming on horseback in the lake, playing pranks on each other; Nancy brought out the kid in me.  She brought out the best in everyone she met.   What a beautiful soul.  I'm so grateful that we were able to connect and create the memories I will always cherish w a smile.  Thank you for being my friend. I love u and look forward to seeing you again soon😘
My mom was known by some as Fancy Nancy, I’ve known her as a farmer, writer, world traveler and more. Most of all she brought joy and humor to everyone around her. I hope the bacon in heaven is extra crispy, mom!
