Nancy's obituary

Nancy Kes, born September 12, 1943, gracefully departed this realm on February 5, 2025. A beacon of warmth and love, she imprinted her vibrant personality on everyone fortunate enough to know her. It's her enduring funny charm, the loving generosity of spirit, her resilient courage, and deep-rooted spirituality that will continue to define her legacy.

Nancy is survived by her beloved son, Pieter Kes, daughters, Chrissy Rudy and PJ LeJeune who, like many others, felt the depth of their mother's love, care, and guidance. She leaves behind an enduring legacy of God's Love and Creativity, a testament to her faith and deep spiritual connection.

Nancy is also survived by her long time friend, Beth Boyd. Nancy and Beth were close friends for over 20 years sharing a home together as well as many adventures.

She was a devoted attendee at the Ascension and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, where a Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on March 29, 2025, at 11:00 am. Friends and family are invited to attend, to remember, celebrate, and honor a life well-lived.

Nancy loved butterflies, the song, “You Are My Sunshine" and Native American spirituality. Her playful spirit could often be found engaged in a lively game of Canasta, and she found profound peace in creating Soul Collages. The verdant shores of Long Lake, Michigan were among her favorite places.

Being a lover of the color green, Nancy appreciated all manifestations of life and nature. Her compassion extended beyond her immediate circle, as she cared deeply for causes such as The Food Bank. One of the greatest lessons that Nancy gave to the world was to always believe in oneself and to listen to one's "gut", which she firmly believed was the voice of God.

Nancy Kes forged a path of unconditional love, enlightened spirituality, and unyielding resilience. Her life serves as a testament to the power of faith, the joy of creativity, and the value of laughter. As we remember Nancy, let us live by her lessons, cherish her memories, and continue her legacy of love and creativity.
