It’s now been three years sin…
2007, 50th wedding anniversary, Palo Alto, CA
It’s now been three years since you left us. Miss you, Mom.
Mom, it’s been two years since your passing and I think of you every day. Your love, kindness and positive outlook on life were second to none. Miss you big time.

It’s been a long year without you, Mom. I miss your smile, your laughter and your wit. You made the world a better place. We need more people like you. I miss you.
Nancy babysat me when I was in Kindergarten. I lived down the street in Los Altos and she would pick me up from Grant School and walk me home. I remember sitting on the Kitchen counter making cookies with her. She taught me the cookie making ropes and was someone I felt loved by and safe with. Frank and Nancy raised a beautiful family. God bless and and memory eternal. ++
Kim

Nancy was the first neighbor …
Nancy was the first neighbor I met when I moved next door in April of 1970.
The family looked like the picture that was 1969. She was the best neighbor anyone could have. I really miss her and the kids. I am so sorry for that loss.
She was always so active and full of energy. I’m going to try to post a favorite photo of Nancy with here first grandchild

Although Nancy spent most of her life in California, she retained much of her New England past. A "proper" person, she always addressed me as Mr. Tooley when I saw her at the Los Altos Library. I responded by calling her Mrs. Burton though we were friends and neighbors for decades. She was dear to me and all who knew her.

Your mom was always kind; always welcoming. Even in the midst of a bunch of kids screaming their heads off at birthday parties or scout meetings she met every challenge with ease.

She will be missed.

Nancy Burton was like a second mother to me. From the first time I visited the Burton family as a friend of Bob Burton in 1979, She was extremely welcoming to me. Ever since that time, I always look forward to spending a few minutes talking with her every time I visited their household. She was an amazing mother to her five children all of whom I consider friends of mine to this day. She was a beautiful spirit through and through and will be missed by everyone who knew her. May she rest in peace.

My heartfelt condolences go out to all five of you, children of my special friend Nancy.
We got acquainted through Foothills Church. I could make a log list of all the fun things we did together. She took me to my first bridge lesson, and we played "high level" tennis matches. Along with our husbands we would meet in Palm Springs for dinners, theater, and hikes at Joshua Tree.
She was so elegant, warm hearted and fun.
Your friend always,
Virginia Greene
