So old man we didn't always see eye to eye on all subjects. Both of us made that clear at times. I was right and you were also very much correct lol!
We were both very much on opposite ends of the spectrum. We shared many memories with you , and of you.
One of my most favorite memories was your love of bbq -beans, and winnies, Coke and Milk and Cookies hahah! And Oh yes baby Thai BBQ - You taught me how to throw down cook:
French Toast (Homemade),extra syrup with Eggs over Medium& Sausage links. And a Coke or cold glass of Milk to wash the Breakfast of Champions down .. but breakfast wasn't breakfast without him leaving the dishes behind.. lol 💓
I recall the opening of A& M BBQ ( Bruce, Betty's husband) they both took turns cooking on the grill.
He make some wonderful Thanksgiving meals, with mom. I recall how everyone would come over and celebrate Thanksgiving.
Minor, and Granny, ( even though granny didn't really celebrate holidays she found it in her heart to go with her husband an eat some Thanksgiving dinner.
Aunt Vivian driving most of the time with her family on deck ).
Auntie Mary was one person who I always looked forward to seeing on Thanksgiving day. Betty who was always mindful to bring a something. Cynthia, Brandy and Lamont, I recall Timothy even came out one year to celebrate.
You could find Lamont who was always plotted down watching the Thanksgiving NFL game with Michael. Out of the blue you would hear . "Naw Man, that was an indicator that someone missed a NFL challenge question. Those questions were asked something like this for example ,"You know who the head coach was ( of the team playing ) back in 1985 right? No, I don't.
Answer the question wrong at your own risk, cause now you have entered the lecture zone something like the twilight zone but,for Football coaches, players, and their wife's, that could even mean commercials.
It was going down in the den.
Moving to texas he found joy going to yard sales with his wife early in morning. And to the "Yard" where his job was located , eating at Risky's or Sonic's restaurants, and the Stockyards.
After he and his wife returned from the yard sales for the morning he loved to show off what he got,"The Deal."not before turning his TV up to 1000 on the volume, back to the sports channel or star track.
If your not familiar with what the Deal was you had to be there. (That's a nice shirt or pair of pants or some shoes).
One of his famous sayings was: F the dumb Sh*t! He learned that from his Mom (Jean) she was famous for saying that .
He was a man that loved to Work, from the Flower shop delivery's downtown Los Angeles to Transportation.
If you hired him you got your company a diamond.
He spoke alot about his career in transportation.
Recently, I asked him if he wanted me to tell Dan J, on him. He smiled and laughed and indicated No ..he always saw Dan J, as a father.
Thank you Dan J, for giving him an opportunity to provide for his family.
Then he would began telling me about, (wait for it ) ". Well you know how I met Dan, dont you? (United Road, let me guess, building a load ) Rather you said, Yes or No. He was going to tell you anyway, So just say no.
To My Favorite Brother Geo, words don't express my absolute Love for you ❤️ a million thanks to you and Tee, and much appreciation.
To Apryl may your heart heal in time. Keep your head up and stay encouraged. The Man you called Dad, Loved his Duck.
One thing is for sure he entered into heaven, he was so excited about joining his new found church and excepting Christ in his Heart as his Lord, something we spoke about privately
You found your way to heavens gates..that's all that matters.
Love Anto ❤️
