Michael's obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Hughes. Born on August 16, 1948, Michael was a beacon of strength and resilience until his peaceful departure on April 6, 2025 in his own home surrounded by his Family. His indomitable spirit and unwavering love for his family will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege to know him.
Michael leaves behind his beloved wife, Donna, his sister Myrna, his 3 children, Shawn, Melissa and Brian, his 8 grandchildren, and a much anticipated great granddaughter on the way. The love and pride he held for his family were evident in every interaction, and will continue to serve as a testament to his committed, family-oriented nature.
Michael was a man of strong opinion and work ethic. He was tenacious in pursuing his goals, demonstrating that through hard work, anything could be achieved. His mantra of putting 'Family First' and living life to its fullest were lessons he imparted to those around him, touching many lives and inspiring all.
Among his myriad of accomplishments, Michael was notable for being married to the love of his life for an astonishing 58 years. He was also a proud father to three successful children, and the founder and operator of a successful finish carpentry company for over four decades. Such milestones not only reflect his dedication and commitment, but also his remarkable ability to balance both personal and professional life.
One of his biggest legacies remains the flourishing company he left behind that his two sons continue to run it today. This living testament to his hard work and belief in family serves as a lasting monument to the values he held dear.
A Celebration of Life for Michael will be held on May 31, 2025, at 11:00 AM at El Adobe de Capistrano. As we gather to remember and honor him, we will share stories, shed tears, and rejoice in the memories he left us.
