Mike Bod...I Love You! I love Ailene! I Love Britneyand her new family! Jill and I were out of town in Colorado Springs June 29-22 celebrating our 51st Wedding Anniversary. During our trip we stayed at a Quality Inn with different kinds of fast food stores around, There was an In and Out, Arbys, Wendys, Chic-fila, KFC, an old favorite of ours the Village Inn(kind of like a Denny's), a 7/11 (ya,OK, not healthy but  cheap!) and of course our all time favorite McDonalds. Jill and I had the pleasure of both working at this fine establishment. In the late 60's you could get a cheeseburger, fries and a Coke for under a dollar! Anyhoo...one night we were at the Hof House with ourselves,JV,Ric F., Jerry French, Neumann and I don't remember the others. ,( that's 6, hmmm...maybe there weren't others...any way...We were sitting around, laughing and had our share of Coors and Tiparelos(well, someone told me it was like a tiparello as we smoked it. I was off work. It was about 10:45 pm and someone mentioned the word " munchies" and we laughed out louder. We jumped into somebodys car and drove to the McDonalds on Arlington. It was like 10:50pm. The store closed at 11pm so most of the cleaning and turning off of fry vats, heating lamps, the grill and of course the milkshake machine had been done. Me being the spokesman, I had a brief, very btrief chat with the guy at the cash register. He said that all he could do was sell us the last cheeseburger that was sitting in the heating food place that we put hot burgers in to keep them warm(maybe heating bin)...shoot, I really don't remember what it was called. I said, "Ok, we'll take that last cheeseburger, but we really, really need some shakes, cause we had the munchies, I mean we were hungry , very hungry and there was six of us. He might of had a suspission that we were acting strange because all six of us were still laughing and snickering and giggling.  I managed to stop giggling  and said" we have got to have some shakes. "Yeah, I know that you want to close but it's like 10:57pm and you are supposed to close at 11pm, so technically you are still open! After some more give and take he agreed to open up the already cleaned milkshake machine and make us 6 milkshakes( did I mention that by now he was not a happy camper?) So anyway, we all got shakes;I don;t remember what flavors. We went and sat down and I proceeded to cut the one cheeseburger into 6 pieces. We had our munchie fix and then drove home! Please don't ask who drove us around because I don't have a clue!  Fun times, great friends! Thanks for the memories Mike Bod!     6/24/2025

We were a family at Sunrise back in the day. Grew up together.  Fun memories and lots of stories. So very sad to know Mike won't be here with us but he lived his life full and well.💔
Oh my, well where do I start. Mike was always a friend to me. I worked with him for years at Sunrise hospital. Such a kind person, thoughtful and steady. His love for his wife was and is unsurpassed. Spent many a time watching their love grow, not to mention how proud he was when the daughter came along. Oh my, will miss the fella. May he rest in peace. Lots n lots of wonderful memories.
