Michael's obituary
Michael was preceded in death by father, Edward and sister Eileen (Paul). He is survived by his mother, Jeanette, brothers, Rich (Elizabeth) and Tom (Donna), sisters Patti (Jim), Mary (Jim), Margie (Greg), Marcella (Paul), and Cathy, his former spouse Sylvia (Jim), his children Jeffrey (Meghan) and Terese (Tony), and grandchildren Riley, Rowan, Jacob, Alex, Samara and Isabella.
It is difficult to express in words how much Michael meant to the world and to all who knew and loved him. He made a tremendous impact and left a very small footprint. He lived a Godly life in word and deed. It was evident in the love he had for his family, and the kindness he gave away freely. One of his favorite Mark Twain quotes was"If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything". Michael was an honest, compassionate, generous, loving man who set the bar high. He loved the outdoors and inspired us all to enjoy the many gifts that nature has to offer like camping, hiking, and growing our own food. He was an avid cycler and yogi and his sense of humor was one of the most endearing things about him.
So, please everyone, in honor of Michael, cherish your loved ones, play some Van Morrison or Joni Mitchell, enjoy the beauty of the forests and the ocean, plant some tomatoes, go for a hike or perform a random act of kindness. We all love him and miss him so very, very much.
