I did not know Meme. I worked with her husband, Keith, for a couple years before I retired from DVUSD. My heart breaks for her family. She was clearly loved, admired, and respected by many. My deepest condolences to all who knew and loved her. May her family find strength and courage to continue on without her and find peace and comfort in your loving memories of her.

I am saddened by her sudden passing. I'm grateful to have had her as my DB interpreter for doctor appointments and training for over five years. She was always there to chat and share laughs with me. I enjoyed having her by my side. She was to be my interpreter on the morning of January 11th but was not there for me but I know now that she is in a better place. She shared her experience and helped me with things. I greatly appreciated her kindness. I can still feel her smiling in my heart. Sending you my deepest sympathy and thoughts. I will miss her greatly.

Meme became an honorary sister in our family. We first met Meme when she became my mom's interpreter. Sometimes I would stay at the hospital, just to talk with Meme. She was generous in sharing stories of her life and culture. I'm honored that she entrusted me with those stories. When I would leave the hospital, I knew Mom was in good hands. I knew Meme would care for her and keep her safe. She wasn't only an interpreter. She became a friend and someone I cherished.
When my father was at the end of life, Meme came again and we were all grateful. She not only brought a means of communication, she brought happiness, sunshine and love.
My heart hurts for her friends and especially her family. May you carry her sunshine in your hearts forever and may her memory be a blessing.

I only met Meme a few times, only worked with her probably once or twice. But I remember her very fondly from those few encounters. Her genuine smile and kindness left a lasting impression. Throughout the years, whenever a colleague would say, “You know Meme?” I would always assume whatever was coming next would be positive, however she was connected to their story would involve her sweet smile and giving nature. And of course, it always was. The world is a little more dim with her passing. My condolences to her family in this painful time. She was a treasure and I’m so sorry for everyone’s loss of her.

I am so sorry for your huge loss. Meme was so wonderful. She loved her family so much, and told stories about her boys. I volunteered with her at rabbit adoptions. She loved the bunnies, and her family adopted an adorable bunny with special needs. I will miss her happiness and smiles.

I am completely heartbroken to hear of Meme’s passing as I just hugged her while I was moving across town just the other day. Although, I only saw her a few times in the past 3 years, she was the sweetest, most caring person I’ve ever met, truly…. I’m so saddened to hear she’s gone and my deepest condolences to everyone in her family.

I have no words to express my sorrow. I loved doing Rabbit Rescue adoption events with her. We would tell jokes and stories to each other and laugh the whole time. I will miss her all the days of my life.

I loved working with Meme. I always left an assignment with her feeling better than when I started. She had such an infectious positive attitude. Meme interpreted for both of my parents during their passing. My mother absolutely loved and adored Meme. She was one of the Busby family.
She will be greatly missed, not just as a colleague, but as a dear friend. My heart aches. I wish condolences and peace for Keith, her sons and her family. I can't help but think that wherever she is, she's making it a better and brighter place.
