Melvin was born in Portland, Ore. He touched the lives of many and is fondly remembered for always putting the needs of others before his own. He was quiet yet competitive, gentle yet strong, introverted yet social. He loved bringing people together whether to share a meal, play pickleball, or watch a UO Duck game. At his core, Melvin was a family man who worked hard in support of the family he adored.
