Mel, may you rest in peace. You were a great husband to your wife; a great father to your children; a great grandfather to my children; and a great father-in-law to me and I thank you deeply. You were a humble, honest and gentle man; tall and slim; dapper in your youth; and an excellent role model. I very much admired you. I also thank you for the many years of service in the Air Force and for your continued work as a civilian at McClellan Air Base after you honorably retired. You preferred rural living over urban or suburban life. You were timid and enjoyed being with your family, playing your video games, painting, and cooking. We will miss you sir.

My Opi meant the world to me. I am devastated over the loss of this very special human. He will forever have an impact on my life and the wonderful things he has taught me.
