I was so sorry to hear about Medina's passing. I am one of the residents that worked with her at Mount Sinai. She always brought so much cheer and joy to all of the residents especially during our dreaded night rotations. She was quick with a joke and always so warm and caring with her patients. Dearest Patty,

I was shocked and heartbroken to hear that Medina had passed away.

Medina may have told you that I lost my husband to brain cancer in August 2022.  I left BA earlier that year so I could spend every moment with him.  I often think of you all and I have some of the happiest memories from New York staying at the Concord Hotel.

I do understand how you must be feeling right now and when people say that in time it becomes easier or that you learn to live with the loss, this just isn’t true.  It hurts and will always hurt but this is the price we pay for loving those in our lives and Medina was a very special person.

I know that you were very close and you instantly came into my thoughts on reading that Med had left us. She was a truly beautiful soul and I still can’t believe this has happened.

Look for Medina in different ways now, when you hear a song you both danced to on a special occasion or in that moment when a memory of her makes you smile and cry.  She is with you always Patty just in a different way.

You are in my thoughts and prayers as is Medina and her family.

I am so very sorry for your loss.
