Words simply cannot begin to express my deepest condolences to you on the loss of your beloved McKelle.

I am so very sorry for your loss. All I can do is pass along what my bishop in the Nebraska Synod-ELCA (Lutheran) send to me over the phone when he found out my ex-wife and I miscarried.

He said “God is with you through this”.

That’s the promise I needed to hear right then, and it is a promise I want to pass along to you, my dear friends.

May God continue to uphold you, comfort you, and journey with you as the good shepherd, especially those moments when it feels like you’re walking through the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23).

This is so tough, and there really aren’t any words I can say that will help. I can imagine the journey and the pain of such a loss, and my heart aches for you.

I know there are a million bible verses, but the following came to mind: “For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.”
