Maureen was one of a kind I worked closely with her on an ambulance for Burundi up to about a week before her passing
Maureen loved the detail No one could have pulled the details of this Global Grant together the way she did Everyone else would have given up
We also worked together in Malawi and Cambodia She was a master of teaching the women to sew and made sure they had the machines to do the work
She will be missed
Condolences from Pat and me

It is with great sadness we learn of Maureen's passing. She was a wonderful person, exemplifying being a Rotarian. Her involvement and leadership in both local and international project was second to none. Her enthusiasm was fantastic.
It has been a true pleasure and honour to have had the opportunity to work with her.
Our condolences to Maureen's family. She will always be warmly remembered.

Maureen was an outstanding example of Rotary's motto: "Service Above Self." Her energy, drive, enthusiasm, determination blazed her trail through so many Rotary programs and projects. She was a woman it was impossible to say "no" to - as I learned several times through my Rotary years as I found myself doing things that I really had had no intention of committing to! She was a wonderful woman who left a permanent mark on the Rotary Club of Toronto. My deepest condolences to Gerry and to Maureen's family on your loss.

Maureen was a trailblazer and will continue to be an inspiration for all. She will be remembered fondly with so many hearts she has touched both here in Canada and Internationally. Her smile and indomitable spirit always found a way to make things happen in Rotary, no matter the challenge, especially when it meant it could make a real impact to someone. Be it leading the International Committee, Technology Team, Voice - our weekly newsletter, Honors & Awards Committee, Poker Walk, Global Grants, Championing the Malawi women's initiatives, climbing the roof to fix shingles or sliding underneath a cabin to fix the foundation at a youth camp, or being there every single Friday morning to ensure our Rotary meeting slides and tech were executed flawlessly, Maureen led with heart, acted with purpose and gave unconditionally. As she famously said, "Giving of yourself with labour and love is really important". A legacy that that will live in so many ways.
My deepest condolences to Gerry and the family. With love.
Prince Kumar, Past President, The Rotary Club of Toronto.

I went to school with Maureen's daughter Laura, who had such a big heart and was so kind to everyone. I can see Laura in Maureen's face. Also Steve, who I didn't know well, but who also always had a smile and a friendly thing to say. My love and condolences to all of you.

Many decades ago I was a colleague of both Maureen and Gerry at Vanier S.S. My memories of working together are replete with warmth, humour, and the professional level of dedicated teachers. Our worlds spun off in different directions. and so I am thrilled to read of Maureen's lifelong accomplishments. The observations in the obituary underscore exactly what I would have expected from Maureen. I hope she at least occasionally took the time to pause and to reflect on the positive difference she made in the lives of so many people. My warmest regards and deep condolences to Gerry and to the entire family.
