Mary's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Kadell Short Mathis, who left us on November 4, 2024. Born on March 19, 1941, Mary lived a fulfilled life and touched the hearts of everyone around her.

Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Annie (Ann) and Jessie D. Short. She was a loving sister to Jesse Short and a dear sister-in-law to Daisy Short and sister-in-law Joan Witt.  Her memory will be forever treasured by her children, Cheryl Mathis and Jamie Tribble and her son-in-law, Randy Tribble.

She was a beloved aunt to her nieces and nephews, Kathie Kerr, Adam Kerr, Rick Jarman, Sam Jarman, Jody Burns, Mark Lowrey, Vic Rich, Gay Nolen and June Elvir. As a pillar of her family, her loss will be deeply felt by all of them.

Mary's legacy will continue to live on through her grandsons, Philip and Michael Tribble, who held a special place in her heart. Her life was a living testament of love, kindness and devotion to her family and loved ones. Her immense ability to care for others and her sense of humor will forever remain in our hearts.

The void left by Mary's departure is irreplaceable. She will forever be remembered by her family and friends  through the happy memories she helped create.

May she rest in peace and may her spirit continue to guide and inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
