Just heard about Marty’s passing and wanted to send my sympathies to his family. We spent a lot of time playing together as kids and I have great memories of all the Gacciones living down the road. My thoughts are with all of you and my Mom sends her thoughts and prayers.
I didn't know Marty personally- but I am able to witness the joy, unconditional love, and selflessness radiate from the family that he was raised with Renee. The entire family is such a light in this world. Marty- your love will continue to shine here on earth thru your family. My deepest condolences. So much love and respect, The Barr family.
Reading all these beautiful memories of Marty.. What an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to so many. To his beautiful family, Renee, Vic, Marty, Tim, grandchildren and siblings, I am so sorry. What a tremendous loss. Our entire family shares in your sadness.
so very sorry to hear about marty passing.tons of great memories of the summers at watch hill merry go round beach and hanging out with all the gaccione family. my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this very difficult time.
This is shocking, sad news that is difficult to process. I have not seen Marty in years but between FB and a few IM’s, his razor-sharp wit and quick come backs made it feel like we were back in he and Renee’s Watch Hill Rd home where we last shared belly laughs (with his bro Vin & cuz Dan.) I will cherish that afternoon, along with too many memories to mention of two young lads figuring out the world together in that most special place called Westerly. Salute Marty, you were special my friend. And warm, empathetic thoughts, wishes and prayers to Renee and his remarkable extended family and friends.
This is such sad news! Having spent a fair amount of time at family gatherings I know first hand of Marty’s magnetism. My husband & I were “members” of the Marty Volvo Owners Group. He will be missed! RIP 🙏🙏🙏
I have such good memories of working with Marty and the whole Gaccione clan, including Linda and Danny, at the Watch Hill bath houses and Carousel. Marty was one of the most genuine and loving people that I have had the pleasure of knowing. My thoughts are with the entire Gaccione family, who I know and love, during this time. Marty was a one in a million guy and will continue to touch people's lives with his memory.
A tearful goodbye to our dear old neighbor on Watch Hill Road in Westerly, Rhode Island. We have only sweet memories of Marty and his lovely family. Renee, Marty Jr., Tim and Victoria we are so very, very sorry for your loss. May your beloved husband and Dad rest in peace and may his joy be complete in heaven.
Along with everyone's heartfelt comments, I too want to add how terrific it's been knowing Marty through the years. "GENUINE" is the word for me. May the many cherished memories bring the Family comfort.
Uncle Marty was one of the most genuine, kind, generous, loving souls I have ever met. I have so many wonderful memories of Uncle Marty spoiling our daughters, Brynn & Blair. So many smiles, giggles and fun times together. I have never had a better cooked steak and will always cherish the times we all spent together. It is surreal that I am writing this. Always know that love never dies. Our hearts are with all of you. Sending big hugs. All our love - Gary & Krista Bello
So sorry to hear about Marty’s passing. We all grew up together in Westerly. He was definitely one of the good ones. To all of the Gaccione family, and Nick and his family, our deepest condolences from the Sheldon family. ❤️🙏🏻
So saddened to hear of Marty’s passing. My family and the Gaccione clan were very close back in the day. We spent many fun filled days and nights going to Red Sox games, hanging out at the beach bodysurfing and skim boarding, playing ball at Buffum’s field, trading baseball cards, water skiing, camping, you name it we did it together. Such fun we all had together!!! My saddened heart goes out to all who called my friend Marty family. RIP good buddy…….❤️❤️❤️
Marty looks so happy in these photos - I'm glad, but so sad. We went to St. Pius together, grew up in a great town with the beach, the Y, and group activities that my dad chaperoned when we got older. Fond, fun, kid memories. Years later, I remember bumping into Marty at the Volvo showroom, and there was that big wide smile and open arms greeting me--like a day had never passed. Such a warm and gentle human being. A gift. My sincerest condolences to Patty, Pam and the extended family.
I’m Marty and Renee’s next door neighbor, I was and am in Iowa for my father’s birthday. I was on the plane when I got a text from my husband about Marty. I was and still am in complete shock. We loved Marty. He was always there for us. When we were back north for the summer he took care of our house and when we were there, well he was the best in every way. Always a smile, especially when he had those two little grand babies by his side. The last time I talked to him he was telling me about him and Renee were taking Rylan to Disney. He was so excited.
So sad. Too early. Marty had a great spirit about him and a tremendous family he was so proud of. He will be missed. Our prayers are with him, Renee and the family.
So so terribly shocked and saddened by the news of Marty’s passing. I’ll always remember when I visited him while in Florida. He invited me to lunch at his home. Before I new it he was cooking up some filet mignonette for us. We had a few beers and reminisced about old times at St Pius School and WHS. Rest in peace Marty my old friend.
Uncle Marty was the best! He was so easy to talk to and the most knowledgeable sports fan I have ever met. He is the reason I am a Boston sports fan. We will all miss him dearly.
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of my neighbor of many years Marty Gaccione. I wish all the strength in the world to Renee, Victoria, Marty Jr. And Timmy! His memory will fuel such pride! One word that immediately comes to mind is absolute class . He always was so gracious to me, my wife and my daughter . He was one of the people I admired when I finally became a Dad! He was such a loyal family man and would do anything for them! He always called me over if I was outside, offering me a beer or even better one of his steaks on the grill! I have such fond memories of him and his spirit for life. I know his children will carry on every day knowing they had the best Dad! Marty I never told you but thank you for showing me what it means how to be a great dad! You will be sadly missed but never forgotten ! Michael Arnold
