When I think of Martha, I am reminded of the flow with which she moved. We crossed paths when she joined my counseling circle for women lawyers. When she joined the circle, there were times when she would say she is not sure how to do this "sharing" with total strangers. But in no time, not only did I see her become an excellent counselor herself but the ease with which she was able to share her feelings was awe-inspiring.
She is one of the hardest working individuals I have had the honor to meet. She could make you feel so special, with just a small text "thinking about you!". Honestly it feels surreal that we never met in person, and I am going to have a huge regret that I only got to see her on video calls. But still her impact is going to last a very long time. I do not know what more to write but I really do miss her messages, her support and her sessions with me. I miss her as my counselor and client. I just miss her and there is a void without her.

Martha was so excited to let me meet her daughter. She looked forward to me being a mom, and she was a good one.

There are special people in this world that if you are lucky, you get to meet. These people are often full of warmth, kindness, and joy. Martha is one of those people. A once in a lifetime daughter, mother, friend, cousin- human. Our family had the pleasure of watching her grow from a baby while others in our family had the pleasure of looking up to her as an older figure.
We are very thankful for the years we had her here with us. Prempeh Family, as your dear family we are here for you: Lucy, Joe, Kwaku, Amma, and Alex. And Alex, who we all happily share the responsibility for. God bless.
Rest in peace, angel.

I’m deeply sorry for the passing of Nana Mart. May the bond and cherished memories shared bring the family comfort during this difficult time. May she find eternal rest in the loving arms of her Creator. J

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my Martha. There are no words that can truly express the sorrow I feel. It seems like only yesterday I was informed of Martha’s birth in Brooklyn, NY. My memories of Martha are from when she was a baby—a very happy one, full of laughter and warmth.
It is that child who has passed away in my heart, and that loss is what I feel so deeply.
Lucy, words cannot describe the sadness I feel for you and the whole family. May we find comfort in each other, and may Martha’s spirit live on in all of our hearts.
With love and deepest sympathy,
Ama (Afriyie Family- New Jersey)
