Martha's obituary
Martha J. Knapp-Graham came into this world at St. Joseph's Hospital. The daughter of Cordelia and Grady Knapp. She was the youngest of her family with two older brothers, James and Everett.
From a young age Music became a very important part of her life. She often spoke highly of her favorite piano teacher, Maxine. Martha continued her studies in California and at Metropolitan State. Receiving a BA in Music Education, it was at Metro that she met her husband, Ron, who sat a few seats behind her.
Together, they played many Sunday Services in Brighton and Georgetown, where they had a little home they called Jenny. Martha continued her Music Ministry at Queen of Peace. Being very active with many choirs and special Masses, at times you would find her more at the Church than at home. When she was not at Church, she had a full list of private Music students who brought her great joy as they progressed.
Martha and Ron loved to travel and have visited all continents except Antarctica and Africa. When Alex came along, both Martha and Alex were very involved in Tae Kwan Do and Ken Po; she took part in his school activities as much as her busy schedule would allow. Other hobbies included kayaking, camping, soap-making, and wine-making.
Martha leaves behind her husband Ron, son Alex, and brothers Everett and James, as well as her fur babies, Charlie, Buddy, Rosie, Jasper, and Bailey, her bird.
In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been established in Martha's name for the continued maintenance, tuning, and repair of all musical instruments at Queen of Peace. All musicians need good working instruments, so that they can continue to share God's gift of music.
