There was never a time that she did not have her nails polished and hair in place. She was truly set an example for all the woman in the family.

Aunt Martha and Uncle Burke’s home
I remember the many years that our family would gather for Kwanzaa celebrations at Aunt Martha’s house. I so enjoyed this tradition, as I loved to hear Aunt Martha’s wisdom. I also loved watching her and my mom play cards in the basement. Aunt Martha always won! I’ll miss you style, Grace, warmth, sweetness and big hugs. I’ll always cherish my thoughts of Aunt Martha! Rest peacefully in heaven!

I was the first girl born into the Patterson family. Aunt "Moppy" and Uncle Milton had a beautiful home on Madison Avenue, where I spent many hours playing with my brother and three male cousins. Aunt Moppy became my friend..."girl" friend and aunt. She was fun and smart and "sassy"! I loved watching her prepare meals and do other daily chores because she always did them with love. She had a rhythmic and sometimes comedic way about her. Life was fun around my auntie-friend. And...she always hummed!

I am happy for the memories and the times God allowed the United Methodist Men of Sharp Street Memorial United Methodist Church to worship, pray, commune, and fellowship with Martha, Tina and her family. We were happy to be there. God was pleased and we all were blessed because we were able to serve God and worship in the name of his precious son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
May She Rest In Eternal Peace.

Prayerfully Submitted,
Samuel A. Gary, President UMM of Sharp Street

Memories are but a moment away.

I am blessed to remember all the love that my Aunt Martha (lovingly known as Aunt Moppy) showed to myself and my husband Kevin.
My Aunt's house was the first place I ran to as a little girl to experience lots of love, joy, fun and all the yummy snacks that I could ever dream of. I remember my "Sweet 16" birthday party at my "Aunt Moppy's" house. I will be forever grateful for the love given to Kevin and myself when we were allowed to host our wedding reception at the home of my most loving Aunt Moppy and Uncle Milton. We will be forever grateful and forever blessed by your love. All our love and condolences to the Allen family.

The circle has been broken in Milton Allen's life .... The families matriarch, his mother, his love - Martha Allen's aura personified dignity and grace within her gentle wise spirit. Her home was a very warm communal, place of refuge, that provided shared life experiences, and knowledge to help many along their life journey. "Her home was also a place where dreams were launched into reality and a community could gather to plan a hope and a future. " said Milton at her 100th birthday party. ( two years ago). Milton we love your dedication to caring for mom,, and taking the step to join our ministry to help you understand her needs so you could better serve her as a son and caregiver. Your mom was a breast cancer champion,, and exemplified strength and courage during her journey. The ministry will keep you Milton and your family in prayer for comfort during this time. Her legacy will carry on through you all. Much Love , New Psalmist Baptist Church Cancer Support Minister
My Aunt Martha, the impeccable example of class and beauty. I will always remember the cakes, I loved, that my aunt made from scratch...Oh what a Gal. Always in my heart.
What a wonderful and loving woman, that touched so many people's lives over the years in so many different ways. Martha P. Allen was a pillar in her community and always looking her best! 🙂 God bless the entire Allen family. God be with you and strengthen you during this time.
To my good friends Milton, David, and Pete my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. The Judge and Mrs. Allen were good friends of my Aunt Esther and Uncle Joe Wilds. The last time I saw your mother and father was at Aunt Esthers and Uncle Joe's 50th Anniversary. Peace be with you.
