Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene "Marty" Thayer, a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, who passed away on January 25, 2024. Born on December 4, 1941, Marty was a beacon of hope and strength, whose life was a testament to the love she carried in her heart and her unwavering perseverance.

Personal note from Marlene's (Marty) Family and Loved Ones

Marlene (Marty) was truly a beautiful, amazing , strong, loving, caring soul and person who is truly and deeply missed but she is no longer struggling and finally reunited with her baby boy after 30 years and with her parents nephew and other loved ones. She is up there in heaven dancing, smiling, laughing, making funny remarks and being her witty self. Watching over all of those she loved.
Thank you to everyone for your support during this difficult time. Thank you for all your love and support. Losing her has been hard, but its been made a little easier by everyone we are surrounded by and love who all knew and loved her as much as we all do.

Updates

Update from Feb. 2, 2024

There will not be any services held, Marlene (Marty) will be cremated and her remains will be place in the above ground wall located at Fort McPhearson Veterans Cemetery, Nebraska. Where one day her ashes will be joined by her Husband Charlie and Son Charles (Chuck) Thayer’s ashes.

No memorial events are planned

Marlene did not want a funeral service, but we appreciate all the love and support and encourage everyone to share their favorite memories of her on this memorial website. In the future we maybe having a celebration of life get together for family but if/when this will be happening has not been decided at this time.
