My condolences go out to Micaela and Mark’s family.

When we moved from California we entrusted our most beloved treasure (Bailey) to Mark and Micaela who adopted him and became ever much Bailey’s parent as me.  Last fall Mark invited me to attend the annual fall ride of the Sam Mateo Mounted Patrol.

I’m so glad we got the 5 days together in September. I didn’t know Mark well before but got a new and unexpected sense of him. He talked so much and was much more sensitive and astute than I knew, as well as stoic and strong ( which I probably knew). Watching him with the horses and hearing stories of growing up and the history of the club was both funny and meaningful in a clearly deep way. I also got a different sense of the construction world that after he explained it seemed intuitive- but only because he explained it so well. And overall what I walked away with was a sense of how much integrity he had and saw how he lived by a code that most people don’t.

Im so sorry for your loss.

My condolences to Mark's family. My sincere condolences to Macaela and Mark's family. This was a terrible unexpected happening. Mark was a friend and someone who was very helpful to me at the Mounted Patrol. Mark took me under his wing and very graciously and taught me how to cook for 50 people. He was excellent at that. He will be sorely missed by many people.

I have only known Mark for 8+ years,  but in this time, we had developed a deep friendship that I had hoped would last forever. While that was not meant to be, my memories of him will last forever.

For anyone who was fortunate enough to know Mark knew that he was a beautiful man with a heart of gold. Anyone that was able to call him a friend was blessed with the gift of a special friend.

Micaela, words cannot even begin to express my sorrow for your loss. All I can say is thank you for sharing Mark.

While Mark's kindness and compassion were evident in almost everything Mark did, his work with the Friends of Kids organization, and his care for his mother-in-law was nothing short of amazing.
In response to "What act of kindness did you witness from Mark?"
Shared a heart Red heart
