Mark's obituary

Mark Ladson Alexander, age 57, died unexpectedly on March 21st. He was a native of Jacksonville where he resided with his family. Mark is the son of the late Carolyn Gillis Alexander and the late Garland Truman Alexander.

Mark is survived by his wife of 31 years, Anne Mahaffy Alexander, and daughters Carolyn Alexander, Christina Alexander, Ashton Alexander Brantley, son-in-law Chris Brantley and granddaughter Tatum Brantley. He is also survived by his sister Marsha Alexander Hall, nephews Duncan and Dalton Hall, brother and sister-in-law Michael and Tia Mahaffy, nieces Anniston and Devon Mahaffy and many cousins. He was predeceased by his brother "Art" Alexander in 1972.

Mark was a graduate of The Bolles School where he was a stand-out student athlete in multiple sports. He especially enjoyed playing for the Bulldogs. He earned a football scholarship to Austin Peay University as a running back and later attended the University of Florida.

Throughout his life he was an avid football fan, always partial to The Bolles Bulldogs and Florida Gators. He enjoyed boating, fishing and especially his Harley Davidson. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is a past member of The Bolles Alumni Board, a member of the Ribault Group and served most currently on the Board of Bishop Snyder High School.
He was an amazing husband, father and papa. He will be missed but always remembered for his kindness, humor and all that he gave of himself to others.

A funeral service will be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 4129 Oxford Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida on Monday, March 27 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church.
