Found this photo from 12 years ago. Marina was a true nature lover – plants, animals, landscape, being outdoors. I feel like this tree was hugging her back.

Marina was my back yard neighbor in Montara, CA and I first met her about 4 years ago. She was such a delightful person and we always spoke about cats among other things. I will miss her so much.

I'll try and post two photos from camping trips with Marina 35 years apart. One in '82 or '83 shortly after she had arrived in SF and we went cross country skiing to the edge of Yosemite Valley. The other at Gold lakes Basin in September of 2017.

Such a beautiful woman, inside and out. Marina and I shared so many goofy times together in high school; reliving our science class moments with Edgar Walter Francis III (or was it the IV?) always make me laugh out loud. I was always taken with Marina's various talents and wit. Her artistic ability to create things was impressive. Unfortunately, once we graduated, I lost touch with Marina as it happened with many of us just going off in different directions. I did, however, manage to catch up with her a few times when she was on the Cape after high school, and once on her own stomping grounds as I managed to find her in California when I was traveling cross-country and we arranged to meet for lunch and the afternoon in San Francisco. She arrived with a flair of sophistication, accessorized with a lusciously patterned and colored silk scarf. We spent most of our time laughing over high school memories! The last time I was to enjoy time with Marina was a night of dance at the Chatham Squire and I believe it was her brother Chris's band that had the gig if I remember correctly. We danced for over an hour; it was wonderful, as was she.
Loving thoughts, Martha Meier

I'm so sorry for the loss of Marina. I'll always think of her whenever I’m in my backyard and I’d see her cute, smiling face pop-up over our fence. Adorable! We miss you, Marina
