Marilyn Denise Okosi was born in Harlem, New York January 23rd, 1956 to Landon and Eugene (Banks) Dunston. Growing up in New York, she learned to work hard as well as explore her passions. In her youth she studied ballet, tap, and jazz dance. Marilyn studied mathematics at Northwestern University and spent most of her career working with computers and as a K-12 teacher. She later retired from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system after 10 years …
