Marie-Anne Mondestin Antenor was born on July 13, 1934 in the Bocachita, Dominican Republic to Mercillia “Chouchou” Obas and Leopaul Mondestin. When she was a mere three months old, her mother passed away, so her father took her and relocated to Wanament, Haiti. There, she resided with her aunt, who raised her. She matured into a beautiful, fiercely independent young woman, and eventually fell in love.

On Tuesday, April 26, 2022, our beloved matriarch, Mima passed away surrounded by her family. She is survived by her 9 children, 35 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, extended family and a host of loved ones. We are blessed and grateful for her presence and impact on our lives.
