Maria's obituary
Maria Alejandra Rodriguez-Corral, 67, of New York, NY, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at home.
Maria was first and foremost a woman of deep faith in Jesus Christ. Her life was anchored in prayer, humility, and service, and her trust in God never wavered, even in the hardest seasons. She lived her faith quietly but powerfully.
She was the devoted wife of Juvenal Gonzalez, with whom she shared 43 years of marriage, celebrating their anniversary on January 23, 2025. Their marriage was built on perseverance, faith, and commitment — a reflection of the vows they honored every day.
Born on March 18, 1958, in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Hector Rodriguez and Lidia (Corral) Rodriguez. From an early age, she carried a strength that showed itself through sacrifice, compassion, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
For many years, Maria worked as a self-employed home attendant, caring for others with the same patience and dignity she showed her own family. Caring for people was not just her work — it was part of who she was.
Maria was a faithful member of Misión Cristiana Juan 3:16 in New York, NY, where she found community, worship, and spiritual nourishment. Her faith was not confined to church walls; it shaped her home, her parenting, and the way she loved others.
Maria’s greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind her loving husband, Juvenal Gonzalez, and her children:
Melliza Gonzalez and her spouse Silvio of Long Island, NY
Rodney Gonzalez of New York, NY
Jazmin Torres of New York, NY
Gabriela Gonzalez of Langhorne, PA
Leslie Gonzalez of Langhorne, PA
Benjamin Gonzalez and his spouse Michelle of Kunkletown, PA
She was a cherished grandmother to Kelsy Cuevas, Kadyn Cuevas, Norah Gonzalez, and Isaiah Gonzalez, each of whom she loved deeply.
Maria is also survived by her siblings: Hector Rodriguez; Juan Carlos Rodriguez and his spouse Roxana; Martin Rodriguez and his spouse Mirna; Leonardo Andres Rodriguez; and Lidia Andrea Rodriguez, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember her kindness, faith, and gentle strength.
Maria’s life was a testament to love, endurance, and faith in Christ. Though she is deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, resting in the presence of the Savior she loved and trusted.
