I was fortunate to work with Maria during her two stints with Auberge Resorts, once as a colleague from another department and later as her department leader. We always found her to be the light in the room. She had this way of taking everything seriously, without taking anything seriously. Everything you gave her would get done (and done well), but it would get done with a sense of humor and a "nothing is difficult" attitude. I will always remember her for laughing at herself as she struggled to pronounce guest names at arrivals meetings and the way she would jump in and help everyone at any time, no matter how busy she was with her own tasks. She made such an impression on everyone in our team that even though she left our company earlier this year, when this news came out we had to close down the office to take time to remember her. One of our other department managers once came to me with the appropriate observation: "She's like an angel from heaven..."

Nick, Clara, Nick, Jess, and family,
Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the tragic passing of your beautiful daughter Maria. When Karen and I chatted with Maria at Nick's 60th celebration her warmth and humor instantly struck us, and it was obvious she inherited all Nick and Clara’s good will and love for life. We know from our discussions that Maria was ambitious and put herself out there in the world. This boldness made her parents very proud. We see that Maria most recently landed in Vermont and got engaged - more blessings for her. Maria had so much life to live and this loss is incomprehensible. Perhaps all we can do is remind ourselves of our blessings and the frailty of life and try to come to some semblance of peace with this gut-wrenching loss. We believe that God has a plan, but at these times we find ourselves incapable of making sense of it.
Please know that you, Clara, Maria's siblings Nick and Jess, Maria’s fiancé Ryan, and extended family are on our minds and the minds of everyone who knows and loves you. We pray for your strength during this incredibly difficult time, for eventual peace in your hearts, and that we all emerge with a stronger bond with each other and a greater love and appreciation for the precious life with which we are all blessed. Lean on each other and all those many, many family members and friends who love you and are all praying for you. When you are ready, we are here for you to listen and support however you may need.
We pray for Maria’s soul. May Maria rest in peace; and may we all remember her light and spirit fondly always.
With Love,
Mark and Karen Weber and family.

Maria and I worked together up until earlier this year when she made a change. I got to spend just a sliver of time with her on screen every day and chat when we were supposed to be working, hang in person on a work trip last year...she truly was a special person, always the positive spirit and fun to be around. I will always cherish my memories with her.
My deepest condolences to her family, Ryan and those closest to her.

I first met Maria my senior year of highschool when we decided to be college roommates at Delhi. When we first met we immediately hit it off. I remember thinking this girl is so much cooler than me I can’t believe she wants to be my roommate! We were so excited for Delhi, to play soccer, party and have the same major. We were inseparable.
Maria was smart, amazing at soccer and always the life of the party. Her energy was contagious, everyone always wanted to be around her.
We were just kids living in the middle of nowhere having the best time ever. I will always cherish those memories. I love you Maria and I will never forget you. 🤍

Maria you are a literal ray of sunshine and now you’re shining that down on all of us. You were such an easy person to laugh with and talk to. Thank you for being sister to my sister. Love you, and sending immeasurable amounts of love to your kind family and Ryan.

I will always remember her as the funny, outgoing, smiling girl I went to middle & high school with. She was a very bright light. I am sending my love to her family and friends.
