The first time I met Rose was at my father’s wake, when all my siblings descended on that house that my parents built post-retirement. Roxanne was a new baby, and the darling of the crowd. Rose was a devoted mother, i could tell, and my brother Tom was a lucky guy to find her. The family thanks you, Rose, for giving my brother love and stability, and a warm home. And for bringing up a nice, smart daughter as well! Rest in peace, you leave us with beautiful memories.

I remember Manang Rose every time my peonies bloom. Why? Because when I visited their house in Renton, her garden had many beautiful and colorful peonies blooming at that time. I was so attracted to the flower that I immediately bought a pot at Costco. I planted it in front of my house and ever since, I have peonies every summer and Manang Rose is always in my mind since then. In loving memory of Rose!
