With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the passing of our beloved mother and wife, Maria Catherine Coombs Hunter. A woman of grace, wisdom, and fierce love, left this world on February 14, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones, with great love, in peace.

Maria lived with unwavering compassion and deep devotion to her family and community. She was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother (Nana), God-Mother, and friend. She was known for her …

Maria's final wish was to return home and laid to rest at sea in Onset Beach, MA-- a place she found healing, peace, family, joy, and connection to her late parents, Burt and Eva Coombs. On Saturday, August 23rd, we will honor her wishes with a sea burial surrounded by those who loved her most.
