Louis's obituary
Louis Albert Noel, Jr. passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was admitted two days prior for chest pains, but was expected to go home after the weekend. Sadly, a heart valve tore during a heart attack Sunday night and he passed quickly, with one of his sons beside him. Louis (pronounced: Louie) was born April 8, 1942 in Schuylerville, NY to Rinda Cudney Noel and Louis Noel, Sr, preceded by his big brother, Andre.
Everyone who knew him experienced his loquacious nature and passionate zeal for the Lord and to share the Gospel. Once you started a conversation with him, you would be hard pressed to hear anything except what God had done in and through his life - or the occasional fart joke, due to his child-like sense of humor.
Louis Noel was a bright man even in his youth. After graduating from Schuylerville Central School in 1960, he earned an Associate in Applied Science degree in Electrical Technology from State University of New York. Soon after, he was hired by Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY where he helped design, build, and test many apparatus, including the Lunar Orbiter.
Near the end of the 60’s, Louie decided to leave Eastman Kodak and travel the world. He ended up exercising his photography abilities and filling his passport with stamps from Europe; his favorite stop being in Denmark. He ended his journey near Santa Cruz, CA, where he spent the next decade of his life. It was during this time that he found the Lord in a profound way and was led to pursue and earn a bachelor’s degree in Bible and Theology from Bethany Bible College in 1979.
Shortly after this, his father passed away and Louie moved to Arlington, TX to take care of his mother during the last years of her life. It was also during this time that he met his wife, Rebecca Hallowell. They were married in November 1989 and became a family of six by 1999! During this time, Louie worked as an electrician for Poly-America. Not only did he work consistently and loyally to provide for his family for over twenty years, but he introduced all four of his children to the Lord. Because of his relationship with Jesus, his family was able to experience the love, grace, and power of God throughout their entire lives.
Louis is preceded in death by his father, Louis, his mother, Rinda, his brother, Andre, and his two miscarried children, Amy and Seth. He is survived by his four children, Janelle Noel Jornales, Matthew Noel, Daniel Noel, and Elissa Noel Howe.
Though he is terribly missed, his family is at peace knowing he is in Heaven worshiping Jesus, fully healed, and full of joy. Through the life of Louis Noel, we can clearly see that God honors a life of simple devotion. If you’ve read this far and you feel hopeless, anxious, or helpless, know that you have a Father who desires to make you whole–a God who knows and sees every moment of your life and wants to bring you peace, hope, and joy. He is only waiting for you to ask Him into your heart.
