This one is tough
I first met Lorrie in 2010 and I was immediately struck by her forward thinking intelligence.
More importantly as a colleague and friend I learned to appreciate her large capacity for work and her huge and caring heart. One in a million she was and though she is gone way too early, she will live on with all who knew her.

My heart is sad. Since our very early days at the tiny Athmar Library, we shared many memories. Rest in Peace, until we meet again. ❤️📚💔

I am so sad for Lorrie's family, and all those close to her. As her former sister-in-law, it was always a joy to spend time with her, and I have great memories of her, my brother, and Mayaih visiting me in Seattle - taking the ferry! - and when Lorrie came back for a conference and she, my now husband, and I had a great meal looking out over Elliott Bay. I will never forget her smile and her laugh, and my mother, my husband, my siblings will miss her. I'm so sorry, Lorrie, taken too young. RIP.

When I was a processing clerk at the Denver Public Library, Lorrie Ann was scheduled to spend a day in the department learning about what we do (the two of us hadn't met yet). My manager at the time was supposed to show her the ropes. However, my manager was sick that day and I ended up with the task--this single happenstance changed my whole career trajectory. We went through how to process the various types of items and within that one day, Lorrie Ann got to know me well enough to see my potential as a trainer and my aptitude in technology. Later, she advocated for me in getting me an opportunity to write a processing macro, and again advocated for transferring me into a position as a half-time trainer/half-time web designer. Every inch of career success I've had can be traced to those foundational experiences; I owe Lorrie Ann so much, professionally.Aside from Lorrie Ann's professional help, Lorrie Ann was a good friend and colleague. We presented at conferences together, had many fun nights out, and stayed in touch enough over the years to catch up in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Denver, and Seattle. I'll miss Lorrie Ann's friendship and will be forever in debt to her for the positive impact she made on my career.

Lorrie has been a part of my life for almost 30 years! We worked together in many different ways over the years and she was always creative and persistent.  She was a support during my bout with breast cancer and was the best person to bring a meal -- she always asked for my order first!  I could never keep up with her, she was a force of nature and I am a better person for having known her.

When I think of Matriarchal Women I think of Lorrie, her leadership, dedication to remain connected to family and lend her kindness, love and wisdom was incomparable.
Lorrie’s support during my mother Nancy’s battle with cancer meant so much more than I can express.
Jon, Mayaih I am so sorry for your loss. She will be missed dearly by all of us family here in Boise.

Jon,  This is a bitter pill to swallow!!  Lori was always so full of life and intelligence.  Over the years she was  a customer, a supplier, a trusted advisor, a friend and partner in crime. ..and she was funny! I loved her sense of humor. She was special, a joy to work with and a joy to hang out with…even the last night we all hung out together, in Portland, after we knew the cancer was back she was her charming, funny, self!!!I’m really going to miss her!!!  

Lorrie was a loving and generous daughter in law. We will remember many  wonderful times together, including some great trips. You were also our computer fixer.

We will love you always.

Lorrie, you were such an amazing woman. I will continue to look up to you. I am honored I got to call you family & will charish our fun times together for the rest of my days .   Love you!!! 💕💕💕
