Lorie was designed to be an aunt. She was the most proactive of my aunts and it shows (to be fair, she had the location advantage). She always did everything in her power to spoil me with Old Navy clothes, trinkets, and a good meal from a restaurant in Anaheim. I've had my fair share of Disneyland trips thanks to her and my Uncle Ted's proactiveness. She even took me up to Flagstaff, AZ , with my Uncle Ted, to ride horses and eat at this steakhouse run by theatre students (so dinner and a show). It was a wonderful trip before I moved out of state for college. Honesty was the best policy to Lorie, no matter the blunt force behind it. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind (even if it started to become repetitive), which I always admired and appreciated during some rough patches of my childhood. Her honesty helped me rationalize really tough/big decisions in my adolescence.   I always looked forward to her visits to San Diego or my train/car ride up to Orange County because I got to see my Auntie and her dog, cat or raccoon at the time. Lorie ensured I had good memories to look back on fondly and I'll miss her greatly because of it.

Lorie attending my high school graduation — with Mikaela Farrell, Lorie-Lyn Wilcox and Michael Farrell

Lori babysat my sister and I when we were little. She was such a steady, consistent and loving presence. I remember my mother dropping my sister and I off early in the mornings. Her house felt like my second home. I would walk in and know exactly where to go. She owned about six cats and my favorite was Misty.

Lori would walk me to school in the mornings and ensure I returned back to her house safely. One day I came back from school with a long face. She was able to discern that was being mistreated at school. She advocated for me. She was more than a babysitter. She was like a second mom.

Her sons Brandon and RJ were like the brothers we never had. I remember when RJ was a baby, she would let him run around the house naked lol! Being the youngest, he used to get away with a lot lol!

When we came home from school, Lori would give us snacks and turn on our favorite tv shows like "The Mickey Mouse Club." She used to love watching Little House on the Prairie because she loved Michael Landon. I'll never forget how much she laughed when we watched Austin Powers. I can hear her now.

We loved playing outside as kids and climbing the tree in the front yard. I learned how to ride a bike at Lori's house.

She used to cook a really tasty pea casserole!

Lori always made sure to treat all of us kids equal. She truly made us feel like we were part of the family. We often met her family members like Aunt Rita and her brother.

Even when we grew up and no longer needed to be babysat, she always made sure to keep in touch. We would do family trips to amusement parks and have traditions like hanging at Irvine Pizza.

I always told her she was like a second mom. I am forever grateful God placed us in each other's lives. She taught me how much you can impact the life of a child by simply loving and caring for them. I will always cherish our memories!

Lori was my babysitter growing up. The Wilcoxes treated my sister and I like family. We not only would stay there after-school, but would also join them on special occasions when my mom was on business trips. Some of the most memorable for me were trips to Lori's sister, Tina's, house. I LOVED riding in Lori's Ford Mustang (which became my favorite car). It always made me feel so free! I loved all the adventures we had at Tina's house! Growing up, Rj and Brandon were like our brothers! I remember us making bug encyclopedias together, lol! We celebrated some birthdays together, went to amusement parks, and even enjoyed a Halloween or two together!  Lori, you will be missed! Thank you for your love and welcoming us into your family! You have no idea what an impact you had on us.

I miss your mom so much. Had so many fun times especially our cruise to Mexico. Lorie loved going on cruises.  I will miss our dinners and just our last minute get togethers. Lorie was so fun to be with. Always had me laughing.  Rest well dear friend. I will miss you always ❤️
