I just told my son maybe 2 weeks ago about us drinking all day, driving a Bobcat, putting in fence posts and then shooting guns & having a bonfire. One of a kind and she will be missed.

We’re going to miss Lori so much! Lori was always the first to reach out to all of the plus ones to see what we wanted to plan during our trips. She had such an adventurous spirit and was so genuine and loving in all of her interactions. We really enjoyed talking to her and spending time with her. She’ll be very missed at our next get together.
Sending our love.

Dr Scappino was an incredible veterinarian. I’m a small animal veterinarian in the area and had worked a few relief shifts at her clinic. I remember the first time meeting her at MTVH and she had made me feel so welcome. I remember thinking how beautiful of a job she did with the practice and how everyone spoke so highly of her. As a young vet, I really looked up to her and was really inspired by not only who she was as a vet, but as a person, too. The world needs more vets like her.

We have lost a very bright light. Lori left this world far too soon, but not without leaving a legacy of love, laughter, service, and fierce devotion. She was so many things: a wonderful and devoted wife to my brother, Randy, a deeply skilled and compassionate veterinarian who lovingly cared for animals (her own and those of others), a joyful gardener, an incredible vegan cook, and an adventurous world traveler whose passport was a testament to her curiosity and courage. She had an incredible ability to serve both in huge and small ways and both internationally and locally in her small town. As a leader in her Rotary International chapter, she shaped and led service trips around the globe, always raising others up along the way. She championed her small town too, creating a thriving vet clinic there, Mule Town Veterniary Clinic, and supporting her local businesses and community events.
Her laugh was impossible to ignore - loud, boisterous, and contagious. The kind that made you laugh along even if you missed the joke. I remember her telling me that her life mantra came from a Jimmy Buffet lyric, “I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead. ” Most importantly she gave fully as a wife, sister, aunt, daughter, friend, and servant-leader. Our hearts are heavy, but we carry her spirit forward in the gardens we tend, the animals we protect, the communities we uplift, the people we feed, and the journeys, both literal and of the heart, that we dare to take.
We love you. We miss you. And we’ll never forget the gift of your presence.

We are so heartbroken to lose Lori. Her niece, Elizabeth and her nephew Patrick absolutely treasure their memories of Thanksgiving g at Aunt Lori's. Lori came to our home to put my beloved Cheyenne to sleep. I will never forget how she approached the process with such grace and kindness. She even took Cheyenne and stored her for me until the warmer months when we could bury her on her farm. Her genuine love and respect for animal and human bonds was immeasurable and I am forever grateful to Lori for sharing it with me. Randy, my heartfelt condolences, with love Siobhan
