Lai and I first met during volleyball tryouts in 1996. I came from a private school in SF so I didn’t know anyone from Jeff my freshman year. I guess she felt sorry for me coz I was warming up ALONE! So she asked if I wanted to join her and Wenilyn in warm ups. I was so nervous coz this little Samoan chick asked me to warm up with her that I kept hitting the ball over her head making her run after the ball. lol. She was so nice about it and that was the start of our friendship and it never ended all these years.
