Lai was the very first friend I made when I started at Jefferson High School in 1997. From the moment we met, there was an instant connection. We discovered we were both from the same province in the Philippines, and that I even knew her aunt. It felt like the world was reminding us we were meant to cross paths. Not long after that, we were working together at Jollibee, and that’s when our little trio—Lai, Chel, and I—was formed.
We became inseparable. We shared so many laughs, secrets, and late-night conversations, supporting each other through school, work, and life. Lai had such a beautiful heart. She loved deeply, fiercely, and without hesitation. We were so different in many ways, yet those differences only made our friendship richer. Somehow, we just understood each other. Lai was more than a friend she was family and I will miss her so much.

I am forever grateful to Lai for taking on my Father's pet chihuahua "Thunder" after my Dad's passing. She took Thunder in and gave him such a happy loving home and life. I knew then she had a heart of gold and would forever hold a special place in our family's heart. Rest in paradise, you will be missed. You touched our lives, we were so blessed by such a beautiful soul.
