Lonnie's obituary
Upon completion of military service, he relocated to indianapolis, IN where he met and married the love of his life, Shirley on June 9th 1973.
They were devoted to each other and was Married for 48 years and together they raised 4 sons.
On May 6 1978 Lonnie was baptized as one on Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a spiritual man and a loyal Servant of Jehovah, serving as an elder in the Arlington Heights Congregation. As well as A Regular Pioneer and attending Elder School, Lonnie had a positive attitude and was always ready to listen to, and encourage his brothers and sisters with counsel based on God’s word.
Lonnie greeted everyone with an enthusiastic “Hello” and a big warm smile. And we all remember his Strong Hand Shake..... it was Firm and
During his extended illness, when ones would come to encourage Lonnie they would come away encouraged themselves and regardless of how he was feeling , he would always respond “I am Maintaining Nicely “ for a middle aged man.
Lonnie loved singing Kingdom Songs, he also played the Harmonica . Lonnie truly loved Bowling and his Nickname was “The Lon-Mower Man” as the result of many Perfect 300 Bowling Games.
Lonnie was a loving Husband supportive father and good friend. He cherished his wife and loved his sons and grandchildren. Who affectionately called him Daddy and Big Daddy.
He will be Dearly missed by all who knew him.
Lonnie fell asleep in death on January 16th 2021 at 10:29 pm. He was proceed in death by his son Clarence, his parents and two sisters, Linda and Flora. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Shirley. 3 Sons Wayne, Lonnie Jr and Ronnie, sisters Slyvia Mitchell Beverly Comillti and Ginger Johnson, brothers William Johnson, and Ernest Johnson an a Host of family and friends
