I was so very blessed to have taken care of my mom (Lois). The joy to learn from her about her life as a child and the way she loved her children was priceless ❤️. She was so kind, genuinely proud to be a Christian and she loved to teach us about our Lord and Savior. She loved gospel and country music and she played the organ in church which was amazing to see! When she was not talking about the Lord, she was talking about her large family. My parents raised a huge garden and we prepared our food together and we enjoyed the rewards of eating it! They raised dogs, ran a family construction company and also a automobile dealership for years! Unfortunately our dad was told he had cancer so, they moved to Texas to be around all of their children's and where my dad lost his battle on June 9,1996. However, my mom continued to live her life to fullest. She had the pleasure of taking care of her mother who was diagnosed with dementia. She needed more help than she could give her and it broke her familys heart to put her in a skilled nursing home. She then moved to Tennessee and Mom loved her job with the government until she was ready to retire and spend the rest of her life surrounded by her children. She moved back to Texas and was a joy to be around my husband and myself. She was also loved by her grandson Kenneth who everyday would read her the Bible and sipped on coffee to have discussions about it. My mom Unfortunately had dementia and I tried to do everything for her, but I didn't know much. I was blessed to have my Aunt Patty, John and Judy Cassell to lean on while navigating the dark water of dementia. I couldn't of done it with out their knowledge and prayers! Mom also was protected by Buddy, her little dog that was spoiled wrotten and enjoyed playing with her every single day! Buddy would always wait for me to say go get grandma and he did! Buddy also would lay his head in her lap to say, it's bedtime! The two of them were equally into mischief eating snacks! We are already missing my precious mom.
