Scot, Lynnsey, Kassie, Marshall, and also Ardyce along with Claudia, Pat and Marna, Ryan and his sweetheart; my deepest condolences to you all. Lisa was always so sweet, kind and generous in praise towards me during my association with the McGonegal family. I will forever cherish that! I remember on one occasion she demonstrated great faith in Jesus Christ, even greater than mine, when her father Raymond was on his deathbed.
I was leading a very busy life at the time and juggling quite a lot. But the Spirit prompted me to pause my busyness and be still! So, I did so for a few days. I did not know why — but I also knew what I felt was the guidance of the Holy Ghost and that guidance has never led me astray. So I waited. Then, like a bolt out of the blue, the phone call came. It was Lisa! Her voice was trembling and I’m sure she was hesitant but she asked in faith.
“My father is dying. Will you come and give him a priesthood blessing?”
“Of course.”
I made haste for the Olympia home of her parents just an hour south of where I lived in Tacoma. I was humbled. As I entered the home I felt a spirit of calm. I laid my hands on his head and pronounced a blessing of comfort and solace and that he, “would have time to say goodbye to family.” Tears were shed. Gratitude expressed. I visited a short time and then left.
After Ray’s passing Lisa expressed the great hope that her father would live. I told her that we do all we can do and then leave the rest up to the Lord. (In the spirit of, “It is by grace that we are saved after all we can do.”) I also expressed my personal conviction that families can be together forever …
The important thing is that Lisa demonstrated her faith in the Savior by asking for a priesthood blessing for her beloved father …
I know that we will all be reunited as families and friends in the great hereafter and will enjoy “that same sociality which exists among us here … only it will be coupled with eternal glory.” (Doc & Cov 130:2) I know this will be accomplished through Christ Jesus our Lord and His great Atoning Sacrifice …

Lisa definitely loved life. She didn’t just endure. I got to know her through the church activities. What a bright light she was! She was so willing to give of her time and her talents. She had an infectious personality and blessed us with that.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time. What a wonderful legacy you have left for them.
We will miss you dearly.

Lisa meant so much to so many including me. Although we only met a couple of years ago, she meant so much to me and I greatly admired her strength and constant joyous attitude. I am so lucky that she was a part of my life.
My sincerest condolences 💖

Lisa has been my friend ever since she and Scot and you three young children moved into our neighborhood and ward in Eden many years ago and I was asked to be her visiting teacher. Lisa is one of the friendliest and nicest people I know. She always has radiated happiness and optimism and goodness. Her optimism dealing with her health these past few years has been amazing. Lisa always looked beautiful and took care of herself in every way. She was bright and cheerful and just such a darling person with her cute blond hair and sparkling eyes. She had great faith and spread her love of people in many directions and I am sure they have all been uplifted and strengthened after being around her. She was gifted with athletic ability which I have greatly admired.
I love Lisa and we prayed for her nightly for many months for a miracle but I also know there is a higher being who knows the beginning to the end. May God bless the McGonegal family with faith and hope to know that He loves and knows each of you. Comfort, strength and peace to you all. With much love.

Scott and Family, I am so sad to see this news. Lisa was a "Shining Star" back from the days of JDHS, then on to raise her beautiful family in UT. I watched from afar, amazed at the "Action Sports" Family you all had become. I watched from the sides of Facebook and witnessed her zest for life, adventure, her doggies, children, grandchildren and you Scott. May you find strength during this time and may I send condolences from my family to yours.

When I think of Lisa, I think of her beautiful spark and love for life. She will always be remembered for the beautiful, kind person she was and continues to be on the other side of the veil where she will wait to be reunited with her posterity. Early memories with Lisa include bike rides, laughter, her baptism so many years ago in our old Eden Ward, raising our young kids together, and more laughter. Lisa’s life is synonymous with light, love, fun, and her beautiful family. She will be missed but she is not gone.

Dear McGonegal family,
Lisa clearly was a force for so much good. I'm grateful for the opportunity to rub shoulders with her even just a few times, and I could sense her BIG love. I was really touched by her unfailing efforts to help feed the homeless and do other charitable things to help others in need. It is clear to me that she had a heart of gold -- and that will forever be a part of her legacy. Much love to your whole family as you navigate life from here. I believe with my whole heart that she'll be looking after each & every one of you.
Love,
Becky Higgins
