Lionel “Chuck” Balcom

June 26, 1950 – October 27, 2025

Lionel Balcom, affectionately known as “Chuck,” passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, surrounded by his family and beloved dog, Chance. He was 75.

Born in Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, to Pearl Zetta (Weidenhoff) and Lionel Charles Balcom, Chuck moved to Orange County, California, in 1981 and, in 1991, settled in Aguanga, where he became an active member of his church and found passion in his work with Chair Boundless.

Chuck discovered his love of photography in college, a passion he carried throughout his life. He was cherished by all who knew him for his warmth, humor, and generous spirit. In his final days, he was comforted by the presence of family and friends who surrounded him with love and care.

He is survived by his daughters, Abby Balcom (Damon Rogers) and Mary Ann Atteberry (Grant Atteberry); his brother, Robert Balcom; and his faithful dog, Chance. He was predeceased by his parents, Lionel Charles and Pearl Zetta Balcom.

After a long battle with COPD, Chuck left this world at peace, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and connection. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date to allow family and friends to attend.
