Leonard's obituary

Leonard Waymon “Pops” Patterson, Jr., 63, went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Benbrook, Texas, after a nearly eight-year battle with cancer.

Waymon was born on August 30, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Leonard Waymon Patterson, Sr., and Sylvia Ann Patterson (née Hayley). After graduating with the Class of 1981 from Brewer High School in White Settlement, Texas, he held several jobs before beginning a long career in Respiratory Therapy. Later, he transitioned into vehicle sales.

On January 20, 1995, he married the love of his life, Rebecca Patterson (née Harrington). A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Waymon was a romantic at heart with a passion for many things. He was an avid reader, a dedicated follower of Christ, a Bible teacher, and a multi-instrumentalist in the Second Chance Band. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, leathercraft, art, history, rodeo, cooking, and traveling.

Waymon is survived by his sister, Barbee Jaynes, and her husband James; his brother Eddy Patterson and his wife Claudia; his son Jeremy Patterson and his wife Tessa; his daughters Leslie Ballard and Casey Raza and her husband Mohammed; and his son Joshua Patterson and his wife Samantha.

He was also the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Mykayla, Victoria, Asa, Gwyneth, George, Charlotte, and Zoe.

Services will be held Saturday, March 21, at 1:00 PM:
