Our family has such wonderful memories of Lee. From the Cal Tech days to many years of meeting up in the High Sierras. Andy will truly miss having Lee as his hiking and fishing partner; they blazed countless new trails together in the Sierras.  We are praying for peace and comfort for everyone at this time.

Love, Sandy Falls and family

I am deeply saddened to hear of Lee's untimely passing. I had the pleasure of working with (and learning from) Lee in the past few years that we worked together on several projects. He was a no-nonsense leader and frequently pushed teams to question why we do what we do and was not afraid to push the envelope. He was great at his role, and a wealth of knowledge, and I remember him saying he could retire anytime but wanted to keep on doing what he loved [to help patients]. Outside of work, his face would light up whenever he talked about his family (in particular as a proud grandpa) and he'd happily show them playing in the background before or after calls via Microsoft Teams. My deepest condolences to his family.

Lee's introduction photo prior to presenting to more than 400 BMS colleagues in June 2022.
Sending my condolences to Lee's family and all of those that were fortunate enough to have spent time with him.  Lee and I worked together at BMS and I was fortunate to spend a lot of time with him over the last six months.  I'll remember Lee as a great co-worker, I'll  remember his passionate for the practical application of science within the biopharmaceutical industry, I'll remember him as mentor to many of us ... but most importantly ... I'll remember Lee for being the same person both inside and outside of work.  As a great example of that, see the picture that Lee choose for his introduction prior to giving a presentation to more than 400 people in June 2022.
My heart goes out to the family and all those that Lee touched closely.  This is an incredibly painful time, and I wish you all strength and an ability to focus on all the good things Lee brought as we mourn his loss.  I will always remember him for his keen mind, and no-nonsense approach to moving teams and therapies forward.   He had an incredibly large impact on colleagues and patients.  Whenever we spoke of life outside work, he would always illuminate when talking about family and grandchildren.  Lee's expertise and wisdom will be deeply missed.

Karen - we are thinking of you and your family during this very difficult time.  We were sadden when we heard of Lee's passing.  We can't find any words to say, except that we will dearly miss visiting with him from across our fence and running into him as he took his  grandkids to the playground.  His passing is a great to all who were blessed with meeting him.  Our prayers are with you and your family.

With our deepest sympathy.

Mike and Lupe Wissel

My deepest sympathies to the family.  I had the pleasure of working with him at BMS since 2015.  He was a brilliant, insightful and practical scientist and person.  He always greeted you with his kind eyes and smile.  He talked a great deal about his grandkids and going to Hawaii.   He will be missed.

This is so emotional for me and my family. Lee was a wonderful hubby, father, grandpa, and family friend. He will be sorely missed. No words can express our pain at this moment…

I hope to share some pictures soon.

May God look out to all who are grieving. 💖🌈We are sorry for your loss.

All our love,  Dennis and Shelley White
