A memory about aunty Leela that stuck with me when we met in Colombo years ago. And I believe my mum was alive at the time and they met. What stayed with me was her her exuberant personality. And I felt she lit up the room with her presence. Its a joyful memory I have of her smile and personality. My thoughts with you uncle Christy.
Dear Uncle Christy— I saw the video and could imagine how much Aunt Leela is being missed by many people she touched in her life filled with generosity. Your visits to us and our parents are fondly remembered. In honor of her name I have donated to both charities.
May you have strength to keep going and may we keep in touch.

Uncle, it is hard to express the emotions of the heart in words. There are sad moments in life, like this, where we look through photos or memories and remember all that is truly precious and beautiful, those moments to cherish forever. Aunty had such a strong place in our family, that person who brought life, love and laughter to those around her. She always welcomed us, cooking, cuddling or just comforting through whatever was happening at the time. Her energy, carried with such dignity and grace is what we will miss the most. We are deeply saddened that she is not here, and will miss her always.
Dear Uncle,
What fond memories of our time spent together in Houston with dear aunty Leela and you. A sweet smile and friendship will be dearly missed. Uncle, you took such good care of her. May her soul Rest In Peace till we meet again.
Take care of your self Uncle.

I am posting these photographs to celebrate the life of my beloved Chinnamma. Her life has taken her around the globe - born in Point Pedro; raised in Colombo; touring India with my mother in her youth; spending 10 years in New York City; joining the love of her life, Christy, in London; back in the US in Houston, TX; and finally, retiring back in London. Throughout her life, she retained a sweetness of character that never changed, whether in the presence of famous celebrities or the poor and needy. She was a versatile personality who could fit into any situation, so her life's travels did not cause her the stress that one would expect in such transitions. A highly talented artist, she possessed a command of music and verse in English, Tamil, and Sinhala, winning many awards in her school days. She had a particular knack for telling a story, especially a humorous one.

Even during the most difficult moments in her life, Chinnamma was one to bring joy to those around her. In a family of strict disciplinarians, it was she who would take her nieces and nephews aside for some secret pampering. She put aside her own happiness for many decades in order to support her mother. The sacrifice she selflessly made as a young woman was bountifully repaid to her later in life, as the Lord blessed her with Uncle Christy. Their years together were the happiest I ever saw her. That happiness only served to increase her spirit of service, hospitality, and generosity. When she was putting a feast together, it was as if her feet had wings. No one left their home without a full stomach and a merry heart.

Uncle Christy, this family is deeply and eternally indebted to you for the 29 years of sheer joy you gave Chinnamma. She thanked God for you each and every moment of her life. I personally thank you from the bottom of my heart for the care and love you gave her. I know how much she cherished the time she had with you.

My dearest Chinnamma, it has been a privilege for my family and myself to have you in our lives. I am thankful that the pain you endured during the past 18 months of illness has finally come to an end. My sorrow at this time is that I cannot be there in person to commit you to your eternal rest in the manner that you so richly deserve. I am so pained that I cannot embrace Uncle in this time of his particular grief. However, our Savior assured us saying, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted". I know that as you entered His gates, you did so as Psalm 100 says - with singing. After all, how else would you!

Farewell our dear one, until we meet again in Glory.

Our sincere condolences to Christy Annan and Leela Acca’s family for your loss and sharing in your great sadness.
We were blessed to have Acca in our lives and we spent some wonderful times with her. She was such a remarkable person always giving without expecting anything in return. We all loved her and we are missing her so much. We have had many a happy times listening to her beautiful singing while playing the piano and enjoyed many baila parties together. We will treasure all the beautiful memories she has left behind and treasure them forever. Rest in Peace Acca.
May our hearts be filled with the wonderful memories of joyful times we spent together as we celebrate a life well lived.
