Greg, Janet, Kayla,, Marissa,, Sam, Margaret, and family, We may never understand this side of heaven why this happened but I trust that we will be united again one day in heaven. Leanna was such a bubbly, caring, sweet young lady. She definately will be missed. May God carry you all during this devastating time. May he give you a peace that is unmistakably from Him. I love you all and pray continually for you all.
Leanna was one of my best friends in jr. high. Although we went to different schools, we knew each other from church. I absolutely loved hanging out at Leanna’s house. We had a blast and spent every moment together laughing, taking pictures, prank calling boys, and making silly YouTube videos....doing all the things middle school girls do. I remember one time we snuck a puppy in her house and tried to hide it from her parents...not sure where the dog came from, but we thought we were secretive. I also remember jumping on the trampoline with Leanna and being envious of her backflip skills. I remember walking to Jamba Juice to get smoothies. I remember driving the golf cart with Leanna throughout her neighborhood. I remember going to the river with Leanna and her family and having a blast on the raft!! I’ll never forget is how much fun, how sweet, and how strong Leanna was. 🤍

This is a beautiful tribute to sweet Leanna, who was a caring, impressive young woman. She should still be with us. Family members: You’re in my prayers and thoughts.
I’m going to miss receiving and sending texts to Leanna about our latest finds of SCARY MOVIES! Truly a shred passion between us that not many understood!!

Fun fact: Leanna always said she was 5’. She was the shortest of our immediate family. Actually, she was 4’ 11 3/4”. So close.
Around the time Leanna got her driver’s license, we met a car broker. She had a different car every few days. One time it was a “nice” BMW. It was dark green...enough said. The one we finally landed on had a great engine, but the inside was pretty awful. There were holes in the upholstery and the driver’s seat had no padding at all. I know this is a first world problem, but still. She was extra happy when she got her first new car.
Woodcrest Christian High... not sure of the exact year, but she had Mrs. Sullivan for Anatomy and Physiology. This was a really hard class and she LOVED it! As many HS students, she exchanged notes in class with friends. Well, the teacher intercepted one and put it on her desk. It didn’t paint her in a good light, to say the least. As I remember, Leanna was confronted by the teacher. Not sure if she cried there, but she definitely did when she got home. Though it was her idea, we encouraged her to write an apology letter to Mrs. Sullivan. She was so brave. We were very proud of her. When I sat in her seat at Open House, the teacher immediately knew who I was and she had tears in her eyes as she approached to say, “Hi”. One sympathy card we received came from her. ❤️
Two things specifically stand out when I home-schooled Leanna for pre-school, kindergarten, and first grade. First, she did not want to color with crayons at all. She thought it was a total waste of time, didn’t want to be bothered, which is weird when you consider her artistic turn later in life. Secondly, she wanted to be busy (not coloring) while I taught/talked....puzzles, play dough, water colors, cutting, etc. I remember testing her a few times to see if she was listening. She always was! We had many times together (alone, which was rare) when I taught her to read. A major accomplishment for both of us!
While Leanna was taking prerequisites for nursing school, she wanted my help with an algebra class. Great news for a math major! She set me up with paper and pencil and put up with my slow writing. Not sure how much I really helped, but it was great fun for me.
