Lawrence's obituary
Lawrie was born December 13, 1934 in Brewer, Maine to James Sr. and Velma (Farris) Robertson. He was the middle child of nine and grew up in Cutler and South Freeport, Maine.
Lawrie was a proud US Army veteran, an electronics technician, a lifelong Bible student, a missionary to Taiwan, a businessman supporting Chinese pastors, and a credentialing coordinator along with various other occupations. He was devoted to his family, always ready with a joke but warm, thoughtful and encouraging to all who knew him. Lawrie loved driving cross country and dreamed of having his own cabin in the Maine woods to sit by the fire and watch the birds and deer. And no matter where he was or what he was doing, he was always passionate about professing the gospel of Jesus Christ to his family, those around him, and around the world.
Lawrie was preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Hyde) and stepson, Eddie Travers. He is survived by daughters Kathy (Kaleb) Hendrickson of Tucson, Arizona and Lissa (Tim) Senner of Smyrna, Delaware, whom he shared with former wife Dee (Judith Hall) Tindall, granddaughters Stephanie (Bill) Burgess and Rachel (Aaron) Settle, and great-granddaughter, Cyrilla Burgess; stepson Allen (Tori) Travers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and stepdaughter Meri (David) Hatch of Sanford, Maine, grandchildren Toni Foster, Amber Reitan, Sabrina Travers, Elizabeth Hatch, Jennifer Evans, Geno Marks, and Jessica Travers, and great-grandchildren Samantha Foster, Sadie Foster, Ethan Archambault, Braydan Archambault, Hailee Reitan, Sophia Guy, Mariah Guy, Roman Hatch, Luke Evans, Manny Marks, and Henry Costello; brother Arthur (Anne) Robertson of Tucson, Arizona, sisters Janice (Don) Howland of New Braunfels, Texas and Janet Pinkham of Bradenton, Florida; along with numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
The family would like to thank the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System for their expert and compassionate care of Lawrie. A memorial service will be held in Tucson, Arizona on November 1, and another in East Waterboro, Maine in June of 2021. In lieu of flowers please give to the Bible Broadcasting Network in his name.
