Dear Bro Sola, as we celebrate you on your birthday May 12th, the memories keep flooding in. The shock of your sudden departure is tempered with thankfulness for the privilege and blessing of knowing you on this side of eternity. I will never forget your family's kindness, generosity and hospitality extended to me when I arrived Saskatoon for graduate school. I first met Bro Emeka and Mavis Oguejiofor and their lovely family who were so kind to me. You and my dear sister Moji later took me into your home and made me feel at home in a home so far away from home and all things familiar. You were both a big part of bringing normalcy to an experience that was nothing but normal.

Your love for God and your family was beautiful to behold. Your commitment to education was outstanding and your sense of humour brought warmth to Saskatoon winters, and of course your highly infectious laughter is unforgettable!

So thankful that you are with your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and He will continue to comfort and keep your beloved wife Moji, Ibukun, Tobi and Olaolu. Your legacy lives on!

Our heartfelt condolences to the wife and children of a man after God’s heart. He walked and lived his life on this earth as real ambassador of Jesus Christ. We love you, but Jesus loves you more. Pastor Sola, sleep well in the bosom of your Lord and father, till we meet to depart no more. Debo & Sayo Awosika-Olumo

I'm lost and haven't slept in a week. I'm devastated and gutted, he was the star of our family, he was my brother. He taught me to love mathematics from the age of 10. Brother Olusola I didnt see you for many years, you in America, myself in Ireland. May your gentle soul rest in peace, since last week the news hits me harder as the days goes by. It's still like I'm dreaming . I hope Aunty Moji and the kids are just ok, it's a sad sad news. I thought Brother Olusola will live forever, but I was wrong! He was honest ,gracious and principled. .from Dublin, Ireland Lekan Afolabi and family

Lawrence Owoputi’s passing is a huge loss!
Though never got to interact closely with him, Owoputi was a fellow Unilag alumnus, a professional colleague and a ‘first class’ civil engineer.
As I communicate my condolence, I admonish the family, brethren and friends that they sorrow not as others who have no hope. All should be comforted by the fact that he loved and served the Lord. He is therefore actually ‘asleep’ in Christ; to partake in the ‘resurrection of the just’.
May his soul Rest In perfect Peace.
My contacts with Pst. Owoputi were only abt 2 or 3 tines on this side of eternity.
And in these moments, all I saw was a man who was an embodiment of great virtues of love, humility and grace.
I have no doubts you have fought a good fight of faith and you now rest on in the blossom of the Lord.
Adieu, Pst Lawrence Owoputi, my condolences to the family and RCCGNA.
May the good Lord grant the family great grace in this trying times, comfort and standby them forever in Jesus mighty name!

Our sincere condolences to the family of Owoputi and indeed all that knew Dr. He was a very fine man inside out. A true christian to the letter. We thank God for the opportunity to have met him. A true friend indeed who impacted so many lives with his soft, kind and encouraging words. We will not mourn as them that have no hope for we know where Dr is right now. He ran his race perfectly. He is free now from every pain and discomfort. May we too be able to live like he lived. May the Lord strenghten the immediate family members and all of us who knew him in one way or the other.
REST ON DR. WE SHALL SEE YOU ON RESURRECTION MORNING.

Pastor Owoputi was a blessing to many people. Personally, I have learned how instrumental he was in the growth of the church I am now a part of in Pittsburgh. I extend my deepest condolences to the Owoputi family as you mourn this profound loss. May God comfort and strengthen you in this difficult time.
I am so sad by the passing of Lawrence. I came to meet him since 1981 in college. He was a great friend who you could always count on even we never spoke often. A true gentleman, always honest, faithful to God and family. And, he was a brilliant engineer. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Great loss of a wonderful friend, who stood by my family and me during difficult times. I will never forget the numerous visits during business trips to Washington DC and the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays when we exchanged visits.

We'll miss you dear friend, but we know that you are now in a better place, where there will not be any pain and sorrow. Rest peacefully in the Lord's presence.
