I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember him always loving the library and talking about his love of teaching children.
Larry was a wonderful man. I as well as many of my other coworkers got to know him well from him coming into our different branches over the years. He almost instantly made you smile when he walked into one of our branches and once you met him you didn't forget him. He was a walking beam of light. I know I speak for a lot of us at the Credit Union when I say he will be greatly missed and we send our condolences and prayers to your family.
On behalf of our entire family, we want to extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers for your family.

Larry was a very special person to our family. His love for the boys in Rangers and his desire to see them find and know Christ was the sole purpose of his life. You couldn’t spend more than a few minutes with Larry and not hear about Rangers.

I’ve known Larry for a large share of my life. I first met him when he began attending First Assembly when I was a teenager. Later as a pastor, it was one of the great joys of my ministry at First Assembly to see Larry grow and develop in his leadership. He took such a personal interest in the boys’ lives. He would attend my son’s LL games and always would ask about him and Our daughters after they left for college.

Larry loved people. Larry loved our family. Our family loved him. He will forever hold a very special place in the heart of our family and in my heart personally.

Larry will be missed by all of his coworkers at Kroger. He brought lots of laughs to us all. RIH Larry
My condolence to the Davenport Family upon the passing of Larry. While I was on staff and after he always had a smile for me and as always asking me questions! He will be missed, but heaven is now enriched!

Viewing will be held Tuesday, August 18 at 5 pm at First Assembly on Washington Center Rd.

It is with great sadness that we share with you that Larry Davenport passed away Thursday evening. Larry was a great friend to the Arcola Baseball League and the Arcola community. Larry loved spending time at the diamonds talking to families and kids. He has been a fixture with Arcola Baseball for many years. In years past, Larry umpired in the Intermediate League, but more recently he could be found setting up the diamonds, cleaning up and mowing. He always had a smile and friendly word for anyone who spoke with him. Due to the pandemic, he had made the decision to stay away this fall season to help everyone feel safe and he has been greatly missed.
When the storms came through Monday evening, Larry stopped by Tuesday just to make sure that all the baseball families made it home safely. Even though you may not have known him personally, Larry was thinking and praying for all of you because that’s who he was. God called home a great servant and friend this week and he will be missed. I take comfort to know that Larry will continue watching over Arcola Baseball at Jesus’ side.
This week, we will have a moment of silence before the National Anthem to remember and honor Larry.
Thank You,
Arcola Baseball Board
